Initially you buy the base plate with a floating shelf included.
Option 1:You can mount the set as is or you can buy 1 or 2 additional floating shelves to make up a full set.
OR
Option 2: You can keep adding to the top/bottom by buying an extension piece(s) and then keep adding floating shelves to extend the set(s) according to your own design.
